Our eCommerce business generates over £40 million annually, and we’re on a mission to keep driving growth and delivering an unforgettable online shopping experience. We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Trading and Merchandising Coordinator to join our digital team and support the day-to-day trading operations of our online store. 

THE ROLE 

As the Trading and Merchandising Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in optimizing Ted Baker’s online performance. From daily site checks to coordinating product launches, you’ll ensure that the online experience is consistently aligned with our brand vision. This role involves data analysis, creative problem-solving, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring Ted Baker’s iconic style to life online. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Site Trading & Analysis 

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks on key metrics, including traffic, conversion, sales data, and promotions, identifying opportunities to improve performance. 

  • Report and manage daily and weekly sales, key metrics, and promotions to the team and wider business. 

  • Analyse trading patterns and sales curves, providing actionable insights and identifying opportunities to maximize online sales and profitability. 

  • Provide both long- and short-term sales forecasts for the site, ensuring accurate projections for the business and warehouse.  

Merchandising Strategy & Stock Management 

  • Support the visual merchandising of products, ensuring optimal product placement and categorization to drive engagement and maximize conversion. 

  • Monitor eCommerce stock levels in coordination with the Buying and Merchandising teams to ensure product availability and efficient stock usage. 

  • Work with Merchandising to drive stock efficiency across all channels and tailor packages to specific site needs based on trading and sales analysis. 

  • Together with Buying and Merchandising, create online opportunities to support trading strategies. 

Promotional Campaigns & Product Launches 

  • Plan, implement, and track key promotional campaigns, including setup, testing, and reporting, to support seasonal trends and special events. 

  • Manage product launches, ensuring product details, descriptions, and imagery reflect Ted Baker’s unique style and meet site requirements. 

  • Support the Trading Manager in planning, delivering, and reporting on promotional activities, including warehouse order and unit forecasts.   

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams 

  • Work closely with Marketing Agency, Customer Service, Content, and Creative teams to ensure a seamless customer journey. 

  • Collaborate with the team to align product, range, and trading strategies with CRM, SEO, PPC, affiliates, retargeting, and social advertising efforts. 

  • Partner with the CRM Specialist to optimize email campaigns, segmentation, and personalization from a stock and product perspective. 

  • Collaborate with the team to optimize site layout, navigation, and product display based on trading data and customer behaviour. 

  • Work with the team to visually merchandise the site based on sales and conversion performance. 

Reporting & Meetings 

  • Lead and participate in weekly eCommerce meetings, providing trade performance feedback and ensuring team strategies are aligned. 

  • Feed into seasonal content planning based on the trading calendar, localized holidays, and weather patterns.   

Competitor & Market Research 

  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to stay updated on market trends and identify areas for innovation or improvement. 

Training & Development 

  • Assist in training and developing eCommerce team in ULUK, ULUS and ULEU. 

Quality Assurance & Site Maintenance 

  • Perform daily site walks, identifying and feeding back any necessary changes to the wider eCommerce team. 
     

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

  • Experience: 1-2 years of eCommerce trading, merchandising, or digital marketing experience, ideally in the fashion or retail industry. 

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to drive trading decisions. 

  • Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail to maintain high standards across all product details, promotional setups, and data reporting. 

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (Shopify) and content management systems. 

  • Effective Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Creative Problem Solver: Ability to think creatively and proactively address challenges in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Team Player: Collaborative, with a positive attitude and the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team. 


PLACE OF WORK 

Your primary location will be the ULAC UK Headquarters in East London. We value in-person collaboration, so you’ll be expected to work from the office three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday). Regular office attendance is key to fostering team interactions and collaboration.
