The designer position is an associate-level position, with the potential to grow within the department. The designer will work with the Product Development Manager and design team in the design, creation and delivery of designs (focus on bags) that support strategic initiatives. This position will use exceptional design skills, knowledge of the current market and identifying trends to create innovative and commercially viable products from conception to production.

Brands include PUMA, Reebok, DSG private label, etc.
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Work with design team in designing, sketching and developing ideas for multiple lines/collections as assigned based on design direction and trend research
  • Research emerging fashion trends and provide awareness of market trends in color, fabrics, style and how to interpret those trends for the brand
  • Assist in creating trend boards, including trend shopping in stores
  • Generate, update and recolor seasonal CADS for multiple brands
  • Produce detailed tech packs and follow through the entire development of product from initial line to final pre-production samples
  • In-put Tech Packs into PLM
  • Daily follow up with factories on tech pack creation/revision/review
  • Review and approve lab dips and strike-off submits
  • Interact with the sales team to discuss design ideas
  • Strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proactive attitude, team player
  • Aids design/merchandising in showroom setup
  • Provides project status updates to management on request
  • Organize and maintain materials for design teams (standard binders, color & fabric libraries, file cabinets, etc.)
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company's needs and operations
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% 
Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related area and 3+ years of experience in Design, including but not limited to experience with bags
  • Knowledge of fashion trends in color, fabric and style
  • Creativity and artistic abilities, an eye for color, texture and pattern with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, PLM, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication with clients and other employees
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workloads seamlessly with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team under critical time frames
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company
  • Strong ability to adapt to evolving changes
  • Experience working with external 3rd party manufacturing partners is a plus
  • Experience working in Basecamp is a plus
This is an onsite position. 

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - 90,000.
