We are now looking for a Junior Buying & Merchandising to support the growth of our Ted Baker brand and contribute to our expanding team.
 

THE ROLE

As a Junior Buying & Merchandising you will support the Buying & Merchandising Manager in planning, stock management, budgeting, and margin control for Ted Baker. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about fashion buying and merchandising and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, global retail environment.

You will assist with inventory forecasting, sales performance analysis, and product selection, ensuring merchandising strategies align with business objectives. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware, with a strong ability to multitask and collaborate across departments.
 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Buying & Merchandising Support

  • Assist in developing and executing seasonal buying plans.
  • Support product selection and assortment planning by analyzing past sales data and market trends.
  • Maintain and update the buying plan, purchase orders (POs), and product database.

Stock & Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels across key markets and channels to ensure availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Support replenishment processes to maintain efficient stock flow.
  • Work with the logistics team to track deliveries and resolve supply chain issues.

Budget & Financial Planning

  • Assist in managing the buying and merchandising budget to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Support profit margin analysis, markdown strategies, and financial performance tracking.
  • Work with finance and planning teams to forecast demand and align inventory purchases with business goals.

Sales & Performance Analysis

  • Analyze sell-through rates, stock turn, and margin performance, providing reports to senior management.
  • Track key performance indicators such as conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and gross/net sales.
  • Identify underperforming and best-selling products, making recommendations for reorders or markdowns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with planning, e-commerce, sales, and marketing teams to ensure seamless product launches.
  • Assist in liaising with suppliers and vendors for price negotiations, order tracking, and delivery updates.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure marketing campaigns align with merchandising plans.
 

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for someone proactive and commercially minded, with a passion for fashion, data, and retail trends. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or planning (fashion retail preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with merchandising and inventory management software (SAP, Exenta, or similar tools preferred).
  • Understanding of retail KPIs, profit margins, and stock management principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
