At United Legwear & Apparel Europe B.V., we don’t just manage numbers—we drive business success. As the force behind brands like Scotch & Soda, Hurley, Skechers, and Ted Baker, we are looking for a Financial & Business Controller who can balance financial accuracy with strategic business insight.

This role is an even mix of financial (50%) and business controlling (50%). You'll ensure compliance and financial reporting while also analyzing performance, optimizing costs, and influencing business decisions. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will collaborate with senior leadership, sales, and operations to maintain financial integrity while identifying opportunities for growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

Financial Controlling (50%)

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements under Dutch GAAP, ensuring compliance.
  • Oversee VAT filings and tax obligations, working closely with tax advisors.
  • Manage reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and financial reporting.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities.

Business Controlling (50%)

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models to support strategic planning.
  • Analyze profitability, cost optimization, and financial performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and leadership to align financial strategy with business goals.
  • Drive ERP system improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide insights on inventory management, pricing, and customer trends.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • 5+ years of experience in a combined financial & business controlling role.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, VAT regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Background in fashion, retail, or inventory-based industries is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel & Power BI (ERP experience in SAP, Oracle, or similar is an advantage).
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus but not required).
