Merchandiser (3-Month Contract)
Merchandiser – Kidswear (3-Month Contract)
📍 Amsterdam HQ | 🗓️ Start: ASAP (latest mid-May) | 🕐 Minimum 3 days/week (more = welcome!)
About Us
At United Legwear & Apparel Co. (ULAC), we’re not just moving fashion forward — we’re building brands kids grow up in. From playful basics to trend-driven designs, we create kidswear collections that parents trust and little ones actually want to wear. Our Amsterdam HQ is the beating heart of our European operations - a bright, buzzing studio space along the canals where creativity, collaboration, and commercial thinking come together daily.
About Scotch & Soda Kidswear
This role is all about Scotch & Soda Kidswear, one of the standout brands in our portfolio. Known for its playful details and distinctly Amsterdam attitude, Scotch & Soda’s kids collections combine comfort and style in a way that feels fresh and original. You’ll be helping shape the upcoming season - making sure the collections make sense for the market, look great, and are ready to go when it’s time to launch.
The Role
We’re looking for someone to jump in and support the merchandising team for 3 months on a short-term basis, starting as soon as possible (no later than mid-May). You’ll work at least 3 days per week, and if you’re available for more - even better. You’ll be part of the full process, from early range planning to in-season performance. It’s a mix of working with numbers, trends, and people - collaborating closely with Design, Buying, Sales, and Planning to make sure everything is on track and on point.
What You’ll Be Doing
🧸 Plan Seasonal Assortments: Develop balanced collections across categories, age groups, and price points.
📊 Analyze Performance: Monitor sales data to inform future product strategies.
🔍 Research Trends: Stay updated on market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities.
🤝 Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with Design, Buying, and Sales teams to align on product, pricing, and timing.
💰 Support Pricing Strategies: Assist in preparing pricing, review, and line launch materials.
🚀 Prepare for Launches: Ensure readiness with line sheets, tools, and assets.
🔄 Manage In-Season Performance: Contribute to decisions on restocks, markdowns, or shifts based on sales data.
Who You Are
✅Experience: You bring 1–3 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or product development (bonus points if it's in kidswear)
✅ Data-Savvy: You're comfortable with Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, and can translate data into actionable insights.
✅ Proactive: You take initiative, solve problems independently, and don't wait for instructions to make things happen.
✅ Collaborative: You enjoy working with diverse teams and can confidently communicate with sales and design departments.
✅ Communicative: You're fluent in English and based in the Netherlands, with the right to work here.
✅ Independent: While you're a team player, you're equally comfortable managing tasks on your own.
