ABOUT THIS POSITION 

We’re looking for a passionate and creative Girlswear Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing standout collections that capture the essence of Scotch & Soda—bold, expressive, and always true to our brand DNA. You’ll work closely with our design, product development, and merchandising teams to bring fresh ideas to life while ensuring that each piece resonates with our customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Creative Design & Innovation 

  • Lead the design process for girls wear collections, ensuring every piece reflects the Scotch & Soda aesthetic. 

  • Develop original concepts that balance creativity with commercial appeal, keeping the collection fresh and forward-thinking. 

  • Create sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings that bring your vision to life. 

Trend Research & Concept Development 

  • Stay ahead of global fashion trends, consumer insights, and market shifts to keep our collections relevant and exciting. 

  • Translate research into unique yet wearable designs that maintain Scotch & Soda’s signature look. 

  • Experiment with fabric, color, and print to push creative boundaries while staying true to brand identity. 

Collection Development & Execution 

  • Oversee the design process from concept to final sample, ensuring high standards of fit, quality, and craftsmanship. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, merchandising, and production, to ensure seamless execution. 

  • Review prototypes and samples, providing clear feedback to refine designs before production. 

Collaboration & Brand Alignment 

  • Partner with other designers to maintain a cohesive look across categories. 

  • Ensure all designs align with Scotch & Soda’s brand DNA and storytelling, infusing each piece with a distinct narrative. 

  • Present seasonal collections to internal teams and key stakeholders, articulating the inspiration behind the designs. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

  • A keen interest in fashion and a strong understanding of the latest trends. 

  • 3+ years of experience in the fashion industry, with a focus on kid's wear design. 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for digital design work. 

  • Strong hand sketching skills to convey design concepts effectively. 

  • Demonstrates a commitment to personal development through regular self-reflection and a willingness to learn from experiences. 

  • Capable of giving and receiving honest, constructive feedback with empathy and respect, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

  • Maintains a growth mindset and perseverance in challenging situations 

  • Effectively prioritizes tasks and manages time and energy to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Takes ownership of projects and decisions, demonstrating accountability, initiative, and a proactive approach to achieving goals and driving results. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
