The Role - Product Development Traineeship

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Trainee to join our Menswear & Kidswear team at Scotch & Soda.

This 12-month traineeship is a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in product development while learning how fashion collections come to life - from first sketch to final product. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues across Design, Merchandising, and Buying, as well as suppliers, and see what it’s like to bring creative ideas into production.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Product Development team with day-to-day tasks and help keep things running smoothly.
  • Assist in creating and updating technical product packs (BOMs, proto comments, measurements) in our PLM system.
  • Track development timelines and help follow up on samples and approvals.
  • Communicate with suppliers alongside the team to clarify product details and check costs and quality.
  • Learn how to spot potential production or quality issues early and escalate them for solutions.
  • Build great working relationships with your colleagues and external partners.

What You Bring

  • A recent graduate or final-year student in a fashion-related field (e.g., AMFI, TMO, Saxion, or a similar textile/fashion program.
  • Some hands-on experience - ideally an internship or up to a year in fashion, product development, or buying.
  • Genuine curiosity to understand the full product journey, from first sketch to finished garment
  • Great organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A proactive, can-do mindset - you don’t just see problems; you like to help solve them.
  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (visa sponsorship not possible.
