The Role

As a Menswear Designer (Jersey) at Scotch & Soda, you will play a key role in developing and executing designs within the men’s jersey category.

Working closely with the Design Lead and wider design team, you will contribute to creating innovative and commercially strong collections that align with the brand’s DNA. From concept to final product, you will help shape pieces that balance creativity with wearability and global appeal.

This role is ideal for a designer with 5+ years of experience, strong Adobe Illustrator skills, and the ability to combine hand sketching and digital design.

What You’ll Do

🎨 Design Development

• Collaborate with the Design Lead and wider design team to develop concepts for the men’s jersey category.
• Translate seasonal concepts and brand direction into strong, creative designs.
• Create detailed hand sketches and digital illustrations that clearly communicate design intent.

🔍 Trend & Market Research

• Stay up to date with global fashion trends, runway shows, and market developments.
• Conduct competitor and consumer research to ensure designs are both relevant and innovative.

🧵 Material & Product Development

• Work closely with Product Development to select fabrics, washes, and finishes suitable for jersey products.
• Support the development of prototypes and provide feedback throughout the sampling process.

📐 Technical Design

• Prepare CADs, tech packs, and technical specifications to clearly communicate design intent to production teams.
• Ensure designs meet quality standards and commercial expectations.

🗣️ Presentation

• Present design concepts and seasonal ideas to design directors and stakeholders.
• Communicate ideas with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in fashion design, ideally within menswear jersey categories.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills for digital design work.
• Excellent hand sketching abilities to visualize concepts quickly and effectively.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, garment construction, and jersey product development.
