As part of our growing European Finance team, we are looking for a Finance Audit Specialist to lead and coordinate statutory audits, strengthen audit readiness, and improve finance processes across our European operations.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Audit Specialist to own the coordination of statutory audits across ULAC's UK and Netherlands entities, with the flexibility to support additional European entities as audit requirements expand.

This role serves as the primary liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders, ensuring audit requests are coordinated efficiently, supporting documentation is readily available, and audit timelines remain on track.

You will work closely with Finance, HR, Logistics, Operations, and external auditors to improve audit readiness throughout the year by implementing standardized documentation, strengthening internal processes, and reducing the administrative burden on the wider Finance team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

📋 Audit Coordination

  • Coordinate statutory audits across the UK and Netherlands, with scope to support additional European entities as required
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors throughout the audit process
  • Manage audit timelines, deliverables, and follow-up actions
  • Coordinate audit requests across departments and ensure stakeholders understand the required information and deadlines
  • Track audit progress and proactively resolve outstanding requests

📂 Audit Documentation & Support

  • Gather supporting documentation from ERP systems, finance systems, and internal records wherever possible
  • Prepare audit samples and retrieve invoices, contracts, shipping documentation, proof of delivery, payroll records, and other supporting evidence
  • Prepare reconciliations and investigate discrepancies supporting audit requests
  • Maintain complete audit files and working papers for future audit cycles
  • Support month-end and year-end finance activities where required

⚙️ Process Improvement

  • Implement and maintain standardized audit checklists, templates, and documentation using appropriate audit or project management software
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring audit activities
  • Improve audit readiness and documentation quality throughout the year
  • Continuously strengthen finance processes and internal controls
  • Support the implementation of scalable audit management processes

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Finance, HR, Logistics, Operations, Payroll, and external auditors
  • Ensure audit requests are completed accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Support finance teams with audit-related analysis and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Finance

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively across departments, and are passionate about delivering high-quality, audit-ready documentation while continuously improving the way things are done.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant finance experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of direct internal or external audit experience
  • Experience supporting statutory audits
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and financial controls
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or Dutch GAAP is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP and finance systems
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within retail, fashion, e-commerce, consumer goods, or distribution
  • Experience working within a multinational or multi-entity environment
  • Familiarity with audit management or project management software
  • Experience improving finance processes and internal controls
  • Exposure to inventory, payroll, and operational audits
